Children's Author
Children's author Ann Purmell always knew that she wanted to be a writer. From the time she could crawl out of her crib, she was picking up crayons and paper to see what she could create. And her creations have been enjoyed by thousands of children, adults and teachers throughout the world. From her very first book, Apple Cider Making Days, Ann's talent and enthusiasm for children remains unmatchable. Originally studying to be an elementary school teacher, she shares a special bond with children in both her books and in person. Her writings have won acclaim from the School Library Journal, Kirkus Reviews, the New York Times, fellow writers, adults, teachers, and most importantly, children. Her latest picture book, Christmas Tree Farm, is a 2006 selection of the Junior Library Guild.
Ann is also a member of the Michigan Chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Ann would like to thank Flavor Fruit Farms and all of the other organizations that have supported her writing over the years. It is in part due to this support that Ann has been able to collect awards from organizations such as the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.
